Thanks guys glad to see I'm not the only one that feels that way, if your a true mustang enthusiast u shouldn't pick em apart like that even if its not to your standards. Now if your picking apart a Chevy that's cool with me:)

Glad I'm not trying to sell a car to any of you guys (picky picky) holy crap:) Like I said earlier glad to see the high price makes mine look like a 20k car
+10,000 you all would pick my car to pieces. Good thing I built my car for me and not you guys.
Since we're on the subject of picking things apart, I'm going to momentarily hijack this thread.

Roy, how do you like your carbon fiber dash? I'm thinking of maybe hydro dipping the dash like you, but also the rear 1/4 trim panels and the tops of the door panels. Give it a contemporary look but a little low-key.

Thanks for your opinion. That's what I like about my resto-mod. I couldn't care less what other people think. It's not perfect anyway.

Alright fellas, pick away.

Heck, I don't particularly mind the BJ car myself - my beef is when sellers misrepresent their cars, as is no doubt the case with this one.

Frankly, I think those gold stripes are rather suiting to it, and it's a shame the hood wasn't done to match. I'm also partial to the intake manifold conversion too, though I would have painted it to match the block if it were my Mach.

Heck, I have a crazy dream of making an ultra-economical, everyday driver out of a beater Coupe - by sticking a 1991+ 2.3L I4 (w/D.I.S.) in the engine bay (complete with the proper engine mounts welded in - the 2.3L will bolt up to a C4 with the right bellhousing - and some T5 combos can be adapted - but engine mounts will need to be changed). Not quite your average, everyday build - and I'm sure someone would like to hang me for it

Get the torches and pitchforks!

:D:p

I don't feel bad for the people at the auctions. They have ample time to inspect and research these cars. If they get taken for a ride and/or carried away in their bidding, that's their fault. Come to think of it, buying any car is the same way. If someone doesn't do their research it's their fault.

Neither do I. Every time I am looking for a car or interested in buying one - I do plenty of research, inspect, check the vin#, etc. to make sure it's the real deal. I agree - it's their fault if they didn't do their homework in the first place.

I'm with Kurt: if you're going to bill it as 'original,' then stick with 'original.' If not, then at least be honest about it. Can't fault the owner for getting so much money for it - good for them. As for the buyers, well too bad for them they paid too much for an original, but maybe the saw the low mileage as the key. Most of the "non-believers" think every '71-'73 is a Mach 1 anyway... so, whatever.

I'm with Roy and the others: build it for you... but then again, nobody here would try to pass off their cars as something they're not.

I was surprised to see the Dragon in the auction. The Mustang Monthly made it sound like it was the guy's dream car and he'd never be selling it. I wonder what happened.

I don't disagree, it should be advertised as what it is and anything less is pretty dirt bag of the seller. I'm just saying that I don't feel bad for people that have every opportunity to inspect and research it, but for whatever reason they don't. And they get emotionally caught up in it and bid the price sky high. Their loss.

Sorry for the delay - I've been real busy with college. Here's a few more pictures as promised. More will be posted later.

Not a problem guys - more pictures will be posted later.

I'd rather have my door dinged up instead of my roof but that's just my .02 cents. Regardless, it was pretty sick to see the underside of the beast.
