big block c6

Is there any way to tell the year of a big block c6. no tags on the trans. The guy that is building my trans has to order clutches for it.

Most of the clutch kits on the market come with 6 clutches for the direct, 6 for the forward and 7-8 for the low reverse clutch

Most of the c6 used 3 or 4 for the direct and forward and 4-6 for the low reverse.

You have to modify the drums to pack more inside.

Some of the more comprehensive rebuild kits include seal sets for both early and late c6.

The biggest change was for the forward clutch early models used a square o-ring, late model used a lipped seal, that requires a special seating tool.
