My Car
1971 Convertible, 1973 Hardtop
In search of my Build Sheet... not going to rip the car apart at this stage, but will take front seats out and check door panels... (and rear set area too). Otherwise will wait until next Fall when I go through the car completely to get it where I like them to be...

As for determining the true mileage on this car (odometer shows 45K) looking at these photos will tell you the charmed life this car has lived. There are some weak areas, as you would expect from 47 years of unknown previous ownership, but, somebody cared for this car... The cardboard under the rocker carpet area is the best I’ve ever seen... I will update on my search..

I have never seen in the door or heard of them in door. That would hold water. Mine is stuck to the floor board and cannot get it. I found one in a vert stuffed in the seat riser. Some members have found several.
In 1980.. I found mine taped to the inside of the driver’s door. I know of others that have confirmed they found their’s behind the door panels also. I also remove the backs of the seat’s to check... Could be anywhere...

Here's where I found mine. These pics have been posted before, so you likely have seen them. I found 3, 2 behind the drivers seat and 1 under the front left underpad. All 3 were under  the underpad on the steel panels in near pristine condition.

I also found an inspection sheet behind the head liner, but unfortunately, there was nothing other than an illegible scribble on it.

Front under driver side underpad.

I wish I could pull carpet up and find non-rusted floorpans...  ;)
Well not to rub it in, or hijack Ken's post, but here's a couple more pics of the entire floor pan. I definitely got very lucky when I found this car in LA.

I hope Ken finds a similar condition when he get deeper into his car.

No luck... It appears the carpet has been lifted once before. Probably went in the garbage...  ::shrug::
