What would cause the carb's float to "shift"?
Had a stalling problem at idle, car ran fine
except would not idle. Had to crank the engine
longer than normal and would sometimes blow
"smoke" out the exhaust. My Holley has site
windows and the front one was full to the top.
Supposed to be half way or less. So I lowered
the bowl level, an easy task with Holley.
This is the second time the site windows came
in handy. We had a fuel delivery issue and empty
fuel bowls led to a new fuel pump. I would not
recommend the site windows you install yourself.
Some Holleys come with brass plugs you remove
and install "temporary" plastic windows for calibration
purposes. The last one we tried broke off in the carb.
