Classic movie "Forbidden Planet"

Post 15-19 pretty much explain why I keep watching the same movies from 1945-1975 over and over. I'll take a mechanical shark over CGI anytime.

I love the scary movies from back then too, all the way into the early 70's... The Fly... Night of the living dead... Them... The blob... War of the worlds... Five million years to earth... The day of the triffids...

Triffids...great movie. War of the Worlds: another classic.The originals, of course...remakes are typically terrible, except for "The Fly". Jeff Goldblum was perfectly cast in a much- improved story over the original.

Don't forget "X". Ray Milland as a jerk doctor with X-ray vision. Low budget, campy...and inexplicably great.

How about Flash Gordon from the 60's. They show it on cable from time to time and I still get a kick out of watching it. The special effects are so cheesy.

Queen did do the soundtrack for flash gordon. I'm a huge Queen fan, freddy mercury sure was "out there" at times.

That "Flash Gordon" was late 70's, post "Star Wars".


Two more of my favorites are "The Andromeda Strain" and "Fantastic Voyage".

Quick, get those damn strangling anti-bodies off of Raquel Welch's breasts!
