Besides the indentation where the bumper mounts, what other differences are there to fenders from '72 and '73?

After finding out my passenger side fender is from a '73, I looked closer and the wheel is closer to the lip on the passenger fender than on the driver side. Before I got the car my dad had the chassis laser measured when the front end was rebuilt and it's supposedly square, so this damn fender is the only thing that is different.

Beside the lip for the 5 mile bumper, the marker light is in a diff spot on the 73. Those are what I know. I also know even if damaged try to find oem fenders. We didn't, bought l & r dynacorn and boy are we sorry. Wouldn't ever again, to many fit issues and body line issues.

Hello [email protected],

Wow, Very disappointing! My take is, if you are going to repop it, at least make sure the fit and finish is acceptable!

Did it ever fit right or even look good?

Steve,

The end lip where the bumper sits and fender extension mounts are the ONLY changes

Wheel well is the same

Marker light is the same

Jenny - maybe that is why the original tooling fender extensions you sent back did not fit.

Fenders turned out okay but eveything took work which = $$. Don we took a chrome extension, blasted the chrome off and ground on them. Will be good to be done with the exterior soon.

Steve, the location of the side marker lights is diff 71,72 vs 73.

There is no marker light difference

I'm still having fitment issues but the unibody is supposedly within specs. My passenger side wheel is closer to the fender lip than the driver side. I need to confirm panel alignment.
By a lot or ??

Did you change or adjust the strut rods and or bushings?

So I spent some quality time in the garage, and it appears that the passenger wheel is slightly further out from the frame rail than the driver side. I will have to confirm that this Friday/Saturday after jacking it up and taking measurements.

The passenger frame rail doesn't show any evidence of damage and repair from the accident, it actually looks just fine. I took some rough measurements and the hood and fenders are all relatively evenly spaced.

The passenger elliptical is in a different position than the driver's side elliptical. Since it's used to adjust camber, I wouldn't think this would account for the difference, but ???
