I was checking the distributor vacuum advance using a vacuum pump. When I first took the cap off, the plate inside that normally pivots with vacuum was stuck towards the advance side. Freeing it up, it then moved as it should when vacuum was applied or removed. Whats a good lubricant to put on the plate to keep things moving freely? Silicon spray.. dielectric grease?? Any spots in particular to put the lubricant on?

Thanks!

A drop of Marvel Mystery oil on the pivot, and while you're there put a few drops on the felt pad in the center of the shaft, under the rotor. There's a nylon button under the breaker plate that you'll have to remove the breaker plate to access. Clean it up under it and put a thin film of distributor cam lube in it's wear path on the base plate.
