Here is a couple of shots from the rod run, actually in our parking lot. The one is a true 69 boss 429 and he had more paperwork to prove it than I have ever seen. Then we headed to Memphis on Sunday, met up with Cobra and family on monday.

Yeah we had a cloudy day, a rainy day, and a hot/sunny day. If you look closely at the last pic you can see the nose of mine behind the cop car.
Better behind the cop car than in front of of it. :p

Can i trade my Mama for that 429? :p She´s almost original!! jeje
Well Damian, like I was trying to tell tnfastbk while he was here in Memphis...the 429 is nothing more than a "Baby" 460. Our Mustangs were MADE for the 460, so my MILD 472 is nothing more than what Ford wanted to do:).

As far as trading your Mama, I do have another D0VE-A block with D0VE-C heads waiting in the wings since I am going with a bored and stroked 429SCJ Block and Trick Flow Heads (Aluminum) on "Fire." Of course, the First Lady may not "bless" the trade:(.

Hey BT,

I bet the Boss 429 is a "baby" to your Mild 472 :D Can you put the Boss 429 Heads and Valve Covers on the 460 block? Love that beefy Hemi look. It just screams "FBB POWER!!!" doesn't it?

Yes, actually you can use the Boss heads on a regular 429/460 block and a lot of folks are doing just that now with the release of Kaase's (and a couple of other's) new Boss Heads.

Keep in mind that the 429 and 460 engines both use the EXACT same block. The only real difference in the base engines is in the stroke.

Awesome! I picked up a 72 with a 460 in it. Always wondered if it was a direct swap and now I know, thanks! I may just do the swap if I ever get around to building the 72. I'll look up Kaases, thanks again!

Not meaning to "hijack" your Thread, Roy but here is the link to Kaase's Site.

my buddy should be bringing me my 460 before the snow sets in can't wait to tear it down. then spend a few years looking at it while I try and find money to rebuild it and finish the rest of the mustang. The big block will be a long term project don't know if I will drop it in the mustang or get something else for it. I would love to do a 514 stroke kit with it.

So what exactly does one do with a 460 or more cubes? Serious question. Are they dragstrip cars or weekend cruisers, etc? Let me in on the secret. :) I have an extra Mach 1 I can play with instead of selling. I'm all for tons of power and torque but have never thought about doing a 4xx build. The gunfight rule is never show up with a gun whose caliber doesn't start with a 4. Could this be true for engine cubes too? :d
