I agree, if it started off as just a regular Mustang they did a good job on the conversion, from the photos it appears as if it was produced that way. The owner (in Berlin) didn't post any door or dash tag information, he's not trying to sell it, he just put the photos up on flickr and I ran across them and thought the car was neat. He says it's a 68 with a 302 cobra engine and a C6 trans, but no pictures of the engine .

it shouldnt be a surprise to see this car...the Mustang is a Falcon with a different body and the Falcon had many forms. Anybody know that there was a Torino styled Falcon up to 1970? probably none left in existance, but FMC would shove old body/frame inventory out to the public however they could. probably a really cheap benchseat 6cyl version of the Torino, named Falcon. collectors item today.

I've seen a few, mainly in magazines but I have saw some at car shows. However all the ones I have seen were the 64-66 style. This looks like a 67-68. I'm pretty sure all these conversions were done by third party aftermarket. I remember reading a article back before the internet took off, that there was a market for it overseas and came up with a fiberglass shell but the car never actually was built as ford mustang engineer thought it was hideous. Then third party body shops caught wind of it in like 65 or 66 and would convert customers already bought mustangs into a wagon using the original concepts design. Kinda like a Roush or saleen just bodywork instead of performance upgrades. Long story short none of these are real from ford, nor sold from ford as wagons. After years went on if course people have done all kinds of crazy things to mustangs.

About 90 1970 1/2 model Falcons were equipped with a serious drag setup. They were very plain-jane 429 CJ cars. And all drum brake cars! Still very cool Ford Muscle.

I have seen that station wagon before. It was sold on Ebay in the US about two years ago. It was purchased by a German, who I think is a dealer in classic cars.

Every once in a while somebody claims that their Mustang wagon was made as a prototype but nobody could ever prove it. Given the fact that many of those were converted by third parties later, it is almost a fact that this one isn´t original either.

If I remember correctly, the Ebay ad even stated that it was converted later. I don´t remember anything in it about the car being original Ford.

This being said, I must say that I really like it, like most of those wagon conversions.

I have only seen Pictures online a few years ago of a Red 66' Mustang Ranhero in California, but to see one in person last year, now that was cool!!!.

I took a ton of picture inside and out. I told my son it would be cool to make one, one of these days.
