FINALLY getting some color on my project! I have the hood, fenders, bumpers and some small parts painted, base coat clear coat. I am working on the body itself to get it ready next week (hopefully) for paint.

I am in a fairly small garage, and would really like to have more room to open the doors ect to work on the body. So I would really like to move the painted stuff out. But, to do that, my only option would be to put the parts outside. I think the weather forecast shows b elow freezing in a couple of days, then staying below. (Michigan)

My question is, will the cold hurt the paint if I put the parts outside? Everything has been painted within the past week, some today. I would like the extra room, but not at the risk of damaging the fresh paint. The paint instructions don't say anything about temperature once sprayed.

Any thoughts? Thanks! (And a sneak peek :) )

If you do put the painted parts outside do not put plastic or anything over them. It takes a while for the solvents to come out. You should be fine to put them in the cold just not covered. In my opinion. In the bodyshop we paint parts one day put them together the next then send the car home to be in the elements

Why did you put the blackout pattern back so far? We have many different posts with pics and measurements that show how to do it correctly.
I do like the color of the paint for the body color and the black looks good too. Sorry not trying to knock you down or anything, but if you went by the Mustang monthly article it was wrong.

I see there are lots of differing opinions on where the hood blackout should go. I read the stencil instructions, and different posts on the forum. Finally went with how the sides fitting the center of the hood pleased my eye, lol. I am definitely not going for original on this car. It was a Grande coupe, I got rid of the vinyl roof top, adding a deck spoiler, Mach I grill, ect. Just going with what I like, I don't plan on ever selling it so not caring about resale.

And of course, the color, lol. We had a circletrack car years ago, my wife custom mixed a color for it (She works at NAPA). I always loved it, kind of a wine, or lighter raspberry. Never really seen one quite like that, and really loved it. So when time for picking color for this Mustang, thats what I wanted. She still had the recipe to mix it, and made some up for me.

Funny thing is, Jaquar just put out their new car, the Type 00, which looks a lot like this in some pics, but more on the pink side than mine. I'm going to call my color "Tina-licious" That and flat black stripes ect I think will look really good and unique.

Gotta be different, lol. My wife has a 71 Chevelle, green with purple stripes. Sounds weird, but looks sharp. Seen a bunch with black stripes, but not purple. No fun just blending in!
