After installing new sound deadener, i'm finding that the gas pedal is hitting the carpet before the throttle can go wide open. Is there any adjustment i can make to bring the pedal up an inch or so to give it some more room? Its a stock throttle cable with the stock 2BBL carb. If its not possible to adjust, what would be a good aftermarket cable to buy? Or should I just cut out a patch of the sound deadener?

Your brake pedal should stop before it reaches the elevation of the gas pedal, so if you raise the gas pedal, check this relationship.
