Glass care and repair

I have a 1973 Mach 1 with the original glass. The back window has a lot of old water spots and won't come out with standard glass cleaner. What is the best way to sharpen up the window and get rid of these water marks?

I've success using 3M Perfect-It III liquid rubbing compound. The "nuclear option" is a glass polishing kit, Eastwood is one source for the kit.

I used an orbital polisher with some polishing compound on my 04 Mach 1 windshield. It worked very good, but will not take out any scratches.
