I'm a little late to the party but I'll chime in anyway.

I've used halogen lamps in mine for years without any major issues but I've run into the problem of disco lighnting at night on occasion, ususally only when the high beams were on though.

Swapping out the headlight switch helps sometimes but it may not, depending on the tolerances in production quality.

The easiest way here is to use a relay. That way the switch only switches the lights on through the realys but the current no longer goes through the switch as it did originally and made the switch cut out.

It can't be a big deal as it took my friend about 30 minutes to rewire it. I couldn't do it myself as anything electrical is a huge mystery to me (as are many other things)! :)

Guys,

I used the relay wiring kit from CJ's and was pleased with results. I do not know the difference from Rocketmans to CJ's besides the cost..

Thanks, Jay
Interesting. I guess I'll look at CJ as well then. Thanks for your input.
Unless Rocketman sell's his kits to CJ Pony, I'd stick with him.  He makes high quality products and is an up-front, easy to talk to guy.  Plus, he's a forum sponsor!

I only said "I'll look at CJ"!! I have dealt with Bob when I got my tach conversion and yes, he was very easy to talk to about my needs. A few dollars difference is not a big deal even though we're paying about 32% exchange rate.
