Noticed the water level in the radiator was down, but I had not

checked for a while so refilled it. A week later down again then I noticed my passenger carpet was wet. California is in a drought.

Question being, if I set the control to "air conditioning" that should

close the valve in the heater hose. The other option is to just

connect the two hoses and bypass the heater. Likely a core leak.

I will be waiting for an email from Don shortly.

I believe that the heater valve just stops the flow to the core, but does not prevent pressure in the core, from the return hose, due to the entire cooling system being under pressure when the engine is running (warm-hot).

Your better option is to bypass the core.

That makes sense. Can not find a leak where the hoses attach or

on the heater box itself, but the carpet is wet and the level drops.

I will bypass, thanks.
