The exhaust pipes in photo "11" are identical to the ones I got from

Don of OMS. Do the dimples in the pipe have any function?

They are the cheap way to bend pipe, the bender creates those. They reduce the internal diameter/area, increasing back pressure. The more expensive way is called mandrel bent, where a steel mandrel is pulled through the pipe while it is being bent, creating a uniform diameter and area, reducing back pressure.

That is an OE appearing exhaust set-up to me. The factory system were not done in the more expensive mandrel equipment so they would have the reductions for bending.

Is there something about "exhaust gas bounce"?

It's just a matter of economics, say they saved $10 per set of pipes, 100,000 cars equals $1 million saved (made).

I bought the pipes from Don as "performance" pipes, which they are We had to retune the engine after adding these pipes

I never considered I was installing factory correct pipes

What about back pressure?

sir....these are not the correct pipes.... we'll be forced to reduce our offer to 75,000!!! not a penny more!
