My Car
73 Mach I
Hi all! I have been watching in on this site for a couple of months now and finally decided to introduce myself. I have owned my 73 mach 1 since the early 90's. I bought the car from a friend with a blown beyond repair motor. Got a 1970 vintage 351 C 4bbl motor in need of a rebuild from another friend. Drove the car for a couple of years then had a accident smashing the left front corner of the car. I replaced the crashed parts along with rusted parts on the front half of the car in the mid 90's then decided to park the mach until I was ready to repair the rust on the rest of the car. A year ago my 9 year old grandson wanted to wash the dust off and go for a ride. That was the day I decided the time has come to finish the mach.

I also have a 83GT 5.0 5 speed (daily driver), 66 coupe and 65 fast back both not running and in need of restoration.

Welcome to the site. Great story - funny what it takes to get us going on these great cars. :)

Post up a pic or two when you get a chance... glad you finally posted an introduction so we can give you a proper welcome!

Welcome to the site. Looking forward to seeing pictures and hearing more about all your Mustangs. Your grandson is great inspiration. I pulled my 73 convertible out of storage when my son and step-son were 15 and 14 because they were interested in fixing it up!

Welcome from TriCities WA. Looks like a pretty solid car, what are your plans for it? My grandson is already eyeing mine and wanting to drive it in a couple of years. Keep us posted on the progress.

::welcome:: from Fabulous Las Vegas!

I'm looking forward to seeing progress on your Mach! Nice shop, by the way!

Thanks for welcoming me to the site. The mach1 is not as solid as it looks in the pictures. I plan to repair all of the rust and paint the car myself. I might send the car out for paint after I fix the rust? The floor pans, trunk floor, rear quarters and most likely part or all of the rear frame rails will be replaced. Structurally I have already replace the front and rear inner fender aprons, radiator support and the part of the frame cross member the strut rods bolt to after I crashed the car in the mid 90's. I started disassembling the car last July working on it in my spare time. With the influence of my grandchildren and the discovery of this great site I hope to stay focused on this project until it is complete then start on the next project.
