Thanks for welcoming me to the site. The mach1 is not as solid as it looks in the pictures. I plan to repair all of the rust and paint the car myself. I might send the car out for paint after I fix the rust? The floor pans, trunk floor, rear quarters and most likely part or all of the rear frame rails will be replaced. Structurally I have already replace the front and rear inner fender aprons, radiator support and the part of the frame cross member the strut rods bolt to after I crashed the car in the mid 90's. I started disassembling the car last July working on it in my spare time. With the influence of my grandchildren and the discovery of this great site I hope to stay focused on this project until it is complete then start on the next project.
Just keep stopping by this site, it will help keep you going.

I have been disassembling the Mach1 the past couple of days and discovered the rust is worse than I thought it was. This will make the project a bigger challenge than anticipated. I will need items not yet reproduced. The thick bondo on the rear of the car was hiding a lot of pop riveted sheet metal over past major rust repair or should I say rust cover up. I also discovered by running across the title that the coupe I have is a 65 not a 66. My progress will slow over the next couple of weeks due to my job. Thanks for the warm welcomes.

welcome and good luck on the Mach. I also have a soft spot for the four eyed stangs as my first new car was a 82 Mustang GT after high school back in the "Boss is back" days.
