I'm sure others are Bond fans as well. I remember back in 1964 or 1965, going with my dad to the local Sears store to see the famed James Bond Aston Martin DB5. They had it outside in a moving (semi) trailer when we got there. I thought the machine guns and really the whole car was too cool! Still do.

Here's another Bond car link:

I like Roger Moore's bond movies my self...Sean Connery's movies are good too and he is the most liked of the bonds....But Roger Moore just had some cooler toys i thought...and the best henchmen after him ever...Jaws just for one ;) lol.... i realy liked the little mini jet and odd stuff he would have... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zfXvAFmEK3Y

Sean was the best, no doubt.

The new guy Craig is pretty good too, and the new Aston Martin is quite nice.

The best car chase was in Diamonds are Forever. That red 71 Mach1 was definatly hot looking on the old Vegas strip!

I like Sean Connery the best, but I agree, the new guy Danial Craig is growing on me. Actually Pierce Bronson turned out better than I originally expected.

Funny thing about that diamonds are forever tunnel part...It was one of the big movie blunders...When they shot it...It was suposta come out the other side...But they messed up..And filmed it coming out on the wrong side...So they edited in a part to make it seem like he flips around the other way in the middle of the tunnel...It was a complete mistake...lol

Red Mach 1...drool. :p

I almost pre-ordered the Blu-ray 22 movie set tonight.

Actually after saying that Sean was the best I have to agree about Pierce and Danial Craig.

And watching the chase scene in Vegas is cool....had to laugh the first time I noticed the flip.....Jill St John was on the down side of the car and then right in the middle you see Connery go from the high side to the low side and the car comes out standing on the drivers side wheels.

Thankfully, the deleted footage still exists, and can be seen here - start at 4:04:

The unfortunate part is that scene could have been easily re-cut so as to use the original footage. All they needed was a quick cut to the actors in the prop car (which was obviously possible - timewise - given that they later shot the quick-fix, left-to-right interior/studio shot with Connery and St. John), immediately following the car's return to 4 wheels, then a cut to the replacement footage.

In fact, there remains enough footage today that I could probably whip up a re-cut example in Adobe After Effects. Tempting.

Also quite ironic is the fact that a lot of the finished footage is full of onlookers piled up at the curb - and that did make the final cut.

I agree with your proposed solution...very possible. So you going to fix it? You'll be famous!

If the library has the DAF DVD with the deleted scene on it, I'd try it (though I'd prefer to work with HD source off a Blu-Ray disc - but I don't have a Blu-Ray drive just yet).

Also note that post production looped John Barry's music score for the final cut - the horn and sax cue plays twice in the final version (once when the Mustang comes up on two wheels, and again when the Ford Custom flips) to fit the extended clip.

Seeing as that cue isn't on the soundtrack, it might be a bit difficult to execute the cuts smoothly (but I can definitely work with what already exists - all I need is a good source).

Famous? Nah. Others have had all the Bonds dueling at cards. The first is my favorite - that's editing talent:

I think we need to do something with the waitress behind him as he enters the casino! :p

I think of Roger Moore first. I think primarily due to the timeframe I was born. And I agree Roger Moore had the best toys. But I would have to put Sean Connery right there as well. After them, I woukd say I do enjoy Daniel Craigs movie.
