There was an interesting event yesterday at the Chatham-Kent Municipal Airport. It was "Mustang and Mustangs" day. This was a fund raiser for a local charity. The organizers thought there might be 100 Mustangs show up, but nearly double that attended. All were photographed on entry with a real P51 Mustang. The weather couldn't have been better, clear skies and warm temps.
Although the owner of the P51 did not fly it on this day, he did fly his Supermarine Spitfire Mk XIV (14). Being a Brit, I have always loved the Spitfire and although I've seem many in the past, I had not seen one this close, actually fly. Unfortunately my camera is not the best for videos, but I did get some shaky shots.
Here are a few pics from around the show.

You had the perfect parking spot ajacent to the P-51 for that 3rd photo. Your Stang is looking excellent!!
Thank you. I got lucky when they parked me, right by the Spitfire. They bought the P51 to that spot after all the Mustangs got the photo taken upon entry.

"Mustang and Mustangs" day must have been a blast, especially with all those cars and the P51 Mustang on display. The Spitfire Mk XIV is such an iconic aircraft—it's cool you got to see it fly up close! I can imagine how exciting it must have been to watch, even if your camera didn't quite capture it perfectly.

Last summer, I went to an airshow and saw a bunch of vintage planes too. It was awesome! I booked my trip through Affordable Premium Travel, which made everything smooth. They helped me find a great deal on flights, so I could spend more time enjoying the event instead of stressing over travel.
