Something a little different from my personal archives when I owned a Pewter '71 Mach 1 429cj mustang for 18 years.

Thought I would share my build from about 25 years ago, a "model" that I built and still keep on my shelf today...

I am trying to remember the mfr. I know it was made in Japan and it is big, approximately 16" in length. Not sure what that would equate to in Model sizing, 1/24th?

Anyway hope you like it. Cheers.

Looks like either of the Doyusha "Vanishing Mach 1" or "Mach 1" kits.

The "Vanishing Mach 1" kit actually comes with both a 1/12th as well as 1/24th scale kit. I actually have this one, and can't wait to build them.

Is it motorized? If so, it might be this earlier Doyusha kit.

Or maybe, it might even be this older Otaki kit.

I love the rear valance back-up lights - something I wish they would've stuck with on the Mustangs, actually. ::thumb::

I am pretty sure it is the 1/12th Doyshu kit. I also have the motorized kit as well, not built still in the box. This model I built, added the blower as I always thought it would be cool... Did not do it on [/align]my Mach as I was keeping it original. I should paint the interior vermillion to match my old car.

I have several of the 1/24th kits, with the intention of building one as my car would've come from the factory (with the sport 'caps and everything), one as I found it (weathered, dented, rusty, with the old chrome nugget rims), and how it is now (with the staggered Cragars, louvers, etc.). One of the kits I plan on "sacrificing" into a 'vert, so I can have one of those as well.

I also scored a set of 1/12th scale Cragar S/Ss, so I'll have a large scale version of my car as it currently sits to go with all the small ones.

I love building models... it's just the whole 'finding time' thing that's so hard these days.
