My harmonic balancer came apart unexpectedly in my '73 vert 351c h engine

sudden severe vibration, so now in the shop as I wait on the part hoping no internal engine damage.

If you didn't drive it that way for a long time it should be okay once you get the new balancer installed.

You should be fine. I had one come apart at 7000 RPM, I didn't know it until I was through the traps and got off the gas. Chuck

You guys are exactly right! I got it back today running great! While it was in my mechanic friend suggested the the oil sending/oil slinger/sensor unit be replaced as I had noticed low oil pressure at times, mostly at idle. Now great oil pressure so I suppose my friends suggestion was good. I'll keep everyone posted, thank you!

I always put on a mechanical gauge and let the car warm up so I know the actual warm and cold idle oil pressure before replacing the oil pressure sender.
