Mystery clips

There are empty clips in the wheel wells both front and back on my 73 Mach 1. Any idea what they are for? Pic attached.

I think that holds your speedo cable. Oops, I see thats under your fender. I have no idea, maybe someone else may know, Somebody may have installed it for some aftermarket wiring.

Most likely an owner addition. Nothing runs through the fender well on these cars that would use that clip.

Thanks. That's what I was thinking. Can't figure out what they would have run. Very odd.
