1971 Sportsroof M code, power windows, AC, Rear grid defroster
72 q code modified to R code + ie, 9.5 compression w/power disc brakes all around-EFI (700cfm 4 barrel)-Hurst wide ratio 4 speed stick-cruise control-over drive-400hp-grande n Mach1 luxury and appearance interior n exterior groups. Magnum 500 15 inch 7n8 inch wheels '(special white convertible w/black w/vermillion seats w/vermillion inserts) n special chrome trims. An 11 year project which also in rebuilding the original Toploade transmission brought the entire car down to only 2500 miles on.

 
I have a 1972 H code Mach 1 with an FMX. It would be interesting to know the percentages. 1972 was the lowest (125093 units) production of the 3 years.

1972 302 sportsroof, going retrorod, will look identical to my old 72 Mach with updated driveline and suspension, unless I can buy back my original 72 Q code, it is sitting in a barn...

Old modifications:

Original Ford ram air setup added in 1980, the day I bought the car. (Bought for my previous 73 Mustang Sportsroof)

351C 2V intake and carb. was swapped with vintage Edelbrock F351 2v to 4v intake with 4V carb.

Top loader 4 speed replaced the original 3 speed manual transmission, by previous owner.

3.25 rear end gear replaced the old 3.00 due to a pinion bearing failure back in the old days.
