Hey guys got a nice tool coming for the garage. I helped out a friend of mine yesterday by hauling a couple cars for him with my car trailer. His daughter wrecked her 2002 Ford Taurus and needed a front clip and radiator and misc, front end pieces. We found another Taurus on CL for cheap that was same year and color. Went and picked both cars up and took to his brothers garage to repair. We stripped the parts car down and were talking about welders and stuff. I mentioned that I am going to buy a plasma cutter soon. He told me he had one he doesn't even use. Bought it a couple years ago and only used a couple times. He doesnt do much fabricating. So he told me he would bring it up next weekend. I said how much?? He said don't worry about it. If I ever need it I know where it is. SWEET!!! Now that's a good buddy! So I am the proud keeper of a new Lincoln plasma cutter. Cant wait to try this thing out!! Could of used it last week while working on my utility trailer. I will put it to good use in my shop. Just thought I would let you guys know. I only used one a few times but they seem awesome. Any advice for owning or using one? setup? Pics to follow next weekend!! Thanks Kevin

Ya should be pretty sweet! I will put it to good use very soon. I have a rear quarter panel to replace on a 99 Jeep Grand cherokee that was wrecked. so i will se how it cuts the smashed up stuff out. Also have a Jeep wrangler coimg soon to replace the floor pans. Should cut through those like butter. No more eating grinding dust of the cut off wheel on the 4 1/2 inch grinder. :D

My buddy dropped off the plasma cutter last night while I was at work. Looks really nice!! I cant wait to fire it up. I will be out in garage later today and will post up some pics of the test cuts. Heres a couple pics of the machine. Like a kid on Christmas.

Plasma cutters are a great tool. With some practice it's amazing how clean a cut you can make. It's very important to keep lots of extra consumables as any water in the air supply will wear them out. I run a water separator then a desicant filter (brown toilet paper type) specifically for the plasma cutter and glass bead cabinet. I have a Miller 375. It's not for everything but it comes in real handy.
