didnt see another thread so here goes.

My 14 year old daughter and i went out in the 67 Convertible to Starbucks... then just cruising around. I stop in a big parking lot to check a couple of things.

"hey DAD...this would be a great time to teach me to drive"....

anyway the kid forEVER will get to say her first driving lesson was with me...and in a 67 Mustang Convertible!!!!!!

Thats just great:)

My daughter is soon 11,and im going to do what i can to make the first car she drive is a Mustang:)......when that times come......at the moment im enjoying that she is only 10 and still a "baby":))...man they grow up too fast!

..

LOL guys lol!! I am really considering a 6 cyl 5 sp for her for economy. We did a swap for a friend on a 289 and he's getting in the 20's with that 5 sp.

I've got 2 years....I'll be looking but I also would do a pick up with a 5sp and 6cyl.

Knock on wood, my 95 Tbird with 4.6L is still running strong, but I was thinking I may do a new Mustang V-6 swap for 300hp and 30mpg... That kind of project is probably beyond my comfort level at the moment though... not to mention I'd need another daily driver in the meantime.

My 17 year old's car is the one he learned to drive on at 13...the 93 GT. Next up is my 12 year old and his 72 Mach 1.

No kids here - so I spent the day tearing more nasty rust out of mine.

I'm sure that will be a great memory starting out on a cassic Mustang. I started teaching my kids in a 98 Mustang GT Convertible with the top down for good visibility in the deserted end of a Home Depot parking lot (the store manager actually gave me permission). Then graduated to a rural subdivision without curbs!

My son turn's 16 in Apr.....and is asking almost daily what Mustang does he get? I keep saying the one you pay for, but that hasn't sunk in yet. I'm sure that I'll let him get behind the wheel of the vert at some point this summer.....in a nice empty parking lot for maybe 2 minutes( most likely all my nerves will take).

Although....I did promise him if he gets honors this year he could drive it to school on the first day of school in Sept.

I'm sure you will be camped out somewhere in the school parking lot keeping your convert under surveillance all day. Never can tell what a jealous classmate would do to it (like being keyed). :dodgy:

Sounds like great motivation to me Ken!

LOL ... I like the stories!!

Here's one you will like. I pick up my daughter from swim practice at school. bout 10 kids waiting when I pulled up in the convertible. Wow that sure is a beautiful car. I bet she gets it when she starts driving???

me: "no"

them: "LOL ...I bet it is because you love that car too much"

me: "no" ..... "its becuase I dont love her enough......."

They ALL busted out laughing
