I had this plate for years. but lately, it has been a curse! On the muppet show years ago. Oscar the grouch had the words "Scram" on his car license plate. ( I thought it was humorous) To apply for custom plates I had to put down three choices in the order I would prefer on the plate. Scram was the third choice! Two years ago. I couldn't pay the registration online which I thought was odd. The plate had been expired for about a month, by the time I could get to the DMV office. I discovered that the plate was given to somebody with a "Scrambler" Jeep. (I blew a head gasket when I found out, Big time!) I wrote a letter to the state that they were not allowed to release my plate to someone else until it had expired six months. The state gave me the plate back. I assume somebody had it on their Scrambler Jeep and had to return the plates. I got the plate back on the car. Later Utah State came out with a vintage plate that is currently on it. My Wife wanted to surprise me and ordered the SCRAM Vintage Plate. She received a regular vintage plate. She contacted the state and asked what happened to the plate she ordered. The state DMV employee who applied for the Scram plate accidentally canceled the Scram plate and issued my wife a regular plate. So Scram was available again for whoever would apply for it! Luckily that all got all straightened out before somebody requested the Scram plate. So here it is on the car and I will never let this plate get past due again!!
