I work for a Ford Dealership in the northeast and there are pine trees on the lot. I was getting ready a F-250 pickup for delivery that had pine tree sap on the hood. My fear was leaving scratches in the paint or ruining the clearcoat. The day before I used 3Ms General Purposes Adhesive Remover (#38983) to get adhesive residue off a lettered van. I sprayed some of the remover on a shop towel and gently rubbed the sap off. Found out it works well with dried sap too. After that sprayed a little liquid wax over the area and it came out great. Hope this tip helps.
