Wow, It's great you saved it from the junk yard. Post up some pics of your GTO too.
Ditto for GTO pics.

Good job with the mustang. It is amazing to see one come back to life!

I put some pics of the GTO in my intro thread.

If you would like to see all the pics of the 65 GTO build there are here.

The 70 GTO that runs on E85 with a 13:1 compression 455 is right here. Its a mile engine other than the compression, the idea being make max torque at cruise RPM, put an overdrive trans behind it and see if I can get 25mpg on ethanol with it. It should still make between 450 and 500hp with almost 600ftlbs of torque.

Have missed a couple days of car work thanks to being sick again. Not sure what it is with this year, always under the weather.

Very nice work, Midwest winters are so hard on car with all the salt and other crap. Reminds me of a Chevelle I did. I think 75% of that car was new sheet metal. lol

Who did you go to for the new steel?
I got the parts from The Paddock back in 06, the shipping difference made the prices about the same as the others. Also when one of the fenders was crushed somewhere before it got to me, they took care of it without a problem and sent me another. They treated me good and got me the stuff fast. I was sad to see them go actually.

Are those new fenders, or were you able to get the originals worked out?

Nice job, BTW - I wish my quarters had come out so nicely.

Super job and it's nice to see someone rescuing another one of these cars from the scrap yard

New fenders, the drivers side fender was crushed pretty bad, and both were quite rusty. Since fenders are available, I took the easy route. I cant get fenders for the 65 GTO, so I had to patch and bump the dents out of those. Had to find another one because the drivers side on that one was trashed too. Lots of work fixing fenders, I would much rather buy a new set than try to fix old stuff that is really rusted and beaten up.

Well, that was a hiatus. 13 years. A lot has happened since I posted in here last. Had to move, built a new home, a new shop and now I am back on the Mustang because I need it out of my shop. The bonus of me building it now, is you get to see video... if anyone is still on the forum, most of them have been unused. Ordered suspension and the last few body panels I need, they'll be here tomorrow or the next day.

Been getting emails from the forum the entire time. Figured I should share the build with you guys now that I am back on it. I really need it done so I can build all the other things in my yard. Also been building my youtube channel, but I will post video here regardless. If the admins don't want YT videos thats cool.
