Thought I'd throw this out there:

I've located a '71 fastback shell in the area which appears to have an intact right rear quarter than I can use for my damaged '71. It so happens someone already whacked off the lower half of the left quarter on this car, so there's no particular incentive to keep it in one piece:

I believe that quarter is mostly rust-free too, so it's a good donor for my purpose.

However, this car is part of a $3,800 lot which the seller does not wish to part out, including two other '73 Fastbacks which I don't have space for (heck, I don't even have space for the '71 shell - I'll be cutting and junking it the moment it arrives home).

The other two seem rather reasonable; one has a 385-series block dumped in it (with a 351 2v air cleaner), and another (or the same car) has a new 9" rear end. These are all the photos I have of them:

I have no idea whether these cars are base fastbacks or whether they were Mach 1's at one time (the one with the new diff appears to be a standard example w/o staggered shocks).

That said, all I want is the shell car for the panel - I don't need the other two, and I'd immediately drill out the rest of the remaining panels, rendering the roof, left C-pillar, door, front clip, hood, and other bits available. Would anybody here be interested in a group buy of these three, splitting the cost equally amongst each other? Seller claims to have clear title on all.

Thought I'd throw it out there before I try arguing with the seller to split the lot.

Unless someone on the site immediately replys I think I would give the seller a good offer on the car that you need minus extras. He still has the best of the cars that might actually be a better incentive than three (space constraints) for a possible buyer.

Now if you had room, well wow - there is some cash to be made.

Something tells me that if I gave him $1k for that shell, he'd still laugh. We'll see when I meet him face-to-face.

You're telling me. What's more, one of our forum members is parting out a '73 with most of the bits necessary to put the yellow/red one together (which appears to be the one with the 351C).

Not sure about the gold glow car though.

The pic of the engine isn't a 351c, It's a 429/460.
Now it makes sense. I took the label for its word when I glanced at the valve covers, but went nuts once I saw the water pump and thermostat housing.

Funny thing, being that I've seen a few 460-equipped Lincolns, I should have picked up on that.

Unless that car is the '71 of the lot, something tells me that's not original. Either that, or I just found a 429 car - though I doubt it.

With any luck it a 429 car.
Given the primered front fender, that engine belongs to this one...

...and with those front fender notches, it's a '73. No chance of that being an original 429 car.

More likely than not, the 351 2V air cleaner speaks of what was under that hood from factory.

Whats the story with the Gold one? I have such a soft spot for Gold Glow? Can you get some pictures of it?

'73 Sportsroof, unknown engine, probably the car with the non-staggered shocks and differential job, seeing as the front fender has a chrome moulding on it too.

I'll get some photos for you when I drop by to see these. Might take a few weeks.
