Rear axle vent tube

Hi folks

I am wondering how the rear axle vent tube was originally connected to the under carriage. How the tube is mounted to the axle is clear, but as I mentioned above I dont have an idea how the tube was origninally connected to the body. :huh:

Would apprechiate if somebody of you could provide me with a detailed view of this area - pictures or sketch whatever.

It goes up and into the hole by the brake line connector at the frame. Found out what happens when they plug up. Quart of fluid covering the passenger side brakes on the 72 I'm taking apart!
