73 Mustang Coupe
All,

I have a 1973 Grande Coupe with AC. Lately the compressor sounds like it is struggling to work. My system has been converted to R-134a. The AC is still blowing pretty cold. I did some reading in the shop manual and some “google” research and I think the compressor may need oil. I’m searching for oil that I can put in and there are different viscosities available. I see Interdynamics R-134a PAG 46 w/ICE 32 Oil Charge (3 oz.) which is listed as a low-viscosity oil, and Interdynamics R-134a PAG 150 w/ICE Oil Charge (3 oz.) which is listed as a high-viscosity oil. Which one should be used in our cars? Thanks…

The thinner appears to extend compressor life. I just happened to have put that in a friends driver car last week. It quieted his compressor immediately. I'd use it again. Was pleased with it.

I noticed when I was buying that some brands had more or less oil than others. Also some have sealers added, Also in differing quantities. Just read the contents carefully.
