David, sorry to hear that someone else has had their hands in your pockets in exchange for typical repo quality parts! I've almost ordered from Marti a couple of times but never could convince myself to push "The" button.
The part number for the wire sets changed several times over the years ( Way too many to list here). Applications ran through 1976 for the 351M and 400 which Ford used to retrofit the 351C. With the introduction of the Duraspark II system in 1977 which utilized an adapter and cap with male contacts, the wire set for the 76 and prior 351 C, M and 400 were no longer upgraded.
The first set listed on E-Bay (D1OZ-12259-B Motorcraft WR-3819) is for a 351W
The second set (D6PZ-12259-SR Motorcraft WR-3856BR) is one of the 351M/400 wire sets Ford used as a replacement set for the 351C's. You'll notice that it has the long plug boots which are necessary on the C, M and 400 engines. The seller does state that the coil wire is missing. Typical of a wire set that was probably was on the dealers parts shelf and sent back to Ford on a semi annual inventory return. Shop probably just needed a coil wire which were not normally stocked and one was robbed from a wire set and the replacement was never ordered.
You could probably source one from one of your 351C parts cars or if you need a new Ford wire, contact me and I can provide you with a good part # and source.
I noticed the seller does have a "Make an Offer" option. Might see if he would be willing to make a concession for the missing wire!
