My Car
1972 Ford Mustang Hardtop with factory 62K miles 302 new Holley 600 Street Warrior carb,Edelbrock Performer intake,stock C-4 trans,with 279 rear.
I have a 1972 Mustang Hardtop,302/auto stock had the wiper motor replaced this past winter.-Picked the car up @ the local repair shop here in Middletown,De and discovered the tech tied the one red wire from the wiper switch wiring harness/plug to the turn signal wire harness with a "Toggle' switch than ran a wire directly to the positive terminal of my battery. So if i happen to forget and turn off the switch ,when i turn off the ignition i will have a dead battery when i need to use my car again.--There must be a bad wire someplace under the dash for the wire harness to be bypassed and run a wire directly to my battery.-I also replaced the wiper/washer switch and this made no difference.-

My fuel gauge did work fine before any of this and turn signals worked also. I removed the "Toggle" switch and now i have no turn signals, and the fuel gauge no longer works.-The headlights, all the instrument lights, gauges except the fuel and flashers work fine.-The ignition switch and turn signal switch have been replaced in the past few months and i just replaced all the glass fuses under the dash.-

Sounds like its time to call around and find an auto repair shop that has experience fixing electrical issues.-Let me know if anyone has run into a simliar issue with the wiper switch not working or fuel gauge after the wiper motor is replaced.-Best regards,-Joe
