Hey guys

Preparing to have the Pass. side shock tower replaced on my 71 Mach 1.

I found two donor shock towers.. one is hacked off in front of the motor mount and the other has the motor mount still attached. No rust issues with either... Which one would you use?

Would the both work? Does it matter where the shock tower was cut?

Thanks for your help.

Doug

Doesn't really matter your going to have to drill out the spot welds on the donor & then your car it'a a bitch of a job, don't even think about sectioning it using the frame rail & rear crossmember look at the 2 pictures thats how you separate the tower from the rail and thats what your shooting for Heres the link to my pictures http://i1136.photobucket.com/albums/n499/FUZZENUT/MUSTANG-%20BACK%20FROM%20THE%20GRAVE/100_1314.jpg

OK.. the photos are very helpful in illustrating how the sections seperate.

I was afraid it was going to be Frankensteined into place where it was hacked out of the donor car

Thanks again for the info! Looks like you had a very extensive restoration on your Mach 1. Nice work! Thanks for sharing the photos.

I notice you had a 1971 Frame Dimensions chart? Is there anyway you could email a copy of that to me? I want to make sure all the dimensions stay as straight as possible. Thanks for your help! Doug in Indy
