Before I continue with the LH bottom corner, I wanted to create the RH inner corner. Time to open it up:

Starting to create the new inner corner:

Pro tip: heating the metal helps the shrinker gripping.

Time to shrink -> Shrinking done:

After shaping the top edge the shape was ready for test fitting:

Looks good!
Incredible work! I love the CAD (cardboard aided design) system,

Hahaha, the coffee is primarily against the cold! I don't have heating and I always keep the door open for safety reasons. So I'm basically working outside all day in near freezing temperatures now that winter is close...

Here are 2 more pictures of the finished piece:

And on the first day of 2025, I welded in the bottom RH corner of my rear window ledge. But not before I fixed a crack in it... All the cold shaping makes the metal really hard but also prone to cracking.

But after welding it in, I noticed that it's a little bit too much outwards which will make welding the outer skin to it a little challenging. I have two possible ways to go forward:
1) Take it out, which will destroy the piece so I have to make a new one
2) Deal with it and use a bit more filler later to get the shape right

I'm thinking of option 2 at the moment...

Vinnie-

Just a prediction here; you are such a perfectionist and are so talented with metal work I am guessing your affinity for option 2 will wane.

You will sleep on it and end up going with option 1.

Especially since you are not in a hurry to finish...:ROFLMAO:

So, I have chosen option 2 simply coz it would set me back too much and it's easily overcome.

I have cut a bit more off the quarter so that I could make a nice patch. I'm going to later add more frame to raise the rear windshield. The remainder will be fixed with a bit of filler. It's only a few mm's I reckon...

So last weekend I made the outer skin for the corner and fixed it in place. I also fixed the other side in place, both are now ready to be welded in!

Time to work on my Mustang is not something I have a lot of. And welding jobs, I really only do them if I have more than half a day to spend. So this weekend I wanted to weld in both corners.

But on Saturday this happend:

And today this:

This is what I got done at least:

At least one corner is done. And the patch for the upper bit is ready to be welded in.

I also got the other lower corner in place with a couple of welds but it's far from done. Bought more wire on the way home, to be continued in 2 weeks...
