I have a 73 302 with a rats nest of wiring at the solenoid. Someone wire a relay in for the head light and cut up the distributor and lights wiring harness. I have wire nuts, splices and lots of tape. I'm trying to repair the mess. I have the wiring diagram but it is a little confusing. It seems there are more wires connected to the solenoid than what is shown. Does anyone know which wire, or where the wire are coming from that go to the solenoid. I appreciate any help:huh:

Oh! I like that car!

Okay, so 40 years later who knows who has done what to it. Adding an eyelit to the solinoid is a very popular place to tie in for stereo upgrades, lighting upgrades, rewires of something not working and so on. The wiring diagram clearly shows the solinoid and what was 'stock', everything else you will have to trace down some.

If you think this is bad, my 4x4 has two stereo amps, upgraded stereo, electric fuel pump, arb locker, dual batteries, off road lights, volt meter, cb, HEI and I forget what else added to the electric system. ;)

I appreciate it. I know I will be spending some time sorting the wires back to stock, UGH

That isn't the best way to go about things. Soldering with heat shrink tubing or crimp on butt connectors with heat shrink insulation are better choices. Wire nuts have no place on a car IMHO.
