get tired of this body style till I found this forum  ::devil:: They say too much of anything is not a good thing, so had to take a break, You eat too many lobsters and you'll get sick of it. Always good to take a break every now and then. Anyways, speaking of lobsters...I used the break time to work on the ole boat cause lobster season is just a few days away and will be open for all months with an "R" in it. I'll be back at it again soon in full steam ahead when my monster parts load for the '73 project comes in. Should be about a week from now and hopefully all goes well and then I can properly thank the vendors that hooked me up! Very very excited about that and can't wait to start wrenching on the ole Ford rustang again. Lobsters and parts..ahhhhhhh can't get any better than that.

Aloha,

DJ

DJ, We just got back from our lobstering event in the Florida keys at the top of the month. Awesomely good time we had hunting for them! We troll with 3-4 humans until one of them sees a lobster then use the tickle stick method to chase the bugs out. The keys had a solid 15 - 20 mph wind for about 6 weeks prior and while we were there so the water wasn't very clear. Still came back with 30 of them tho.

Anyway, have fun! I totally agree...lobsters and parts - it doesn't get any better than that:exclamation:

Breaks are OK as long as you keep coming back!
+1 for what Mike (OLE PONY) said!

Glad to see you back!!

That's awesome! We have to dive 40+ feet of water to find the pockets and then still worry about morey eels when you stick your hands in the pockets :-/ The way you describe your technique is very similar to how we catch octopus. Tickle stick, grab and give it the death bite on the nerves by the eyes :)

Now that's hard core lobstering! The deepest we have to go is 15 feet or so. I usually go down for them without scuba gear unless I find a really good pocket. No morays but we do keep an eye out for barracuda and sharks...usually see one or two of each each day. The kids think it's cool to brag to their friends about swimming with sharks! Friends say no way but then I'll back the story up by telling of our adventures down there. :D

So you bite the octopus between the eyes? :p Man, it's a different world in HI. :D Sounds like fun!
