speedo problems

I am having problems with my speedometer. The needle bounces a lot a slow speeds and gets better at high speeds. Is the cable bad or was it installed wrong. I had it installed at a shop when I had some trans seals replaced because the old one worked but was very noisey. I will do it myself this time.

Next question

Where can I get one. I was at NPD today and they did not have on for a 73 VERT 351 4V C6

3 things come to mind, no lubrication, a tight bend in the cable/housing, or the cable is too long for the housing.

I got mine at NPD a few weeks back...weird that they don't have one for your model. I originally purchased one at O'Reilly auto, but I'd strongly suggest NOT getting it there. I'd just order it through CJ Pony parts online.

I ordered one from CJ. NPD in Michigan did not have one. Turns out the old cable was to long. I had it replaced when I had some seals replaced on the trans.It figures you have the pros do it and they screw it up. The new cable went in with no issues and works great.
