The other day I started the car and the starter kept spinning after I
had released the key from start position. It spun freely long enough
to produce smoke. I immediately checked the cables to see if any
were hot, no. We replaced the starter relay thinking that was the
problem. Today it happened again. A new ignition switch is probably
the next thing to try. We bought a new starter since the current one
got smoked, still starts the car. When I saw smoke coming from under
the hood, I was ready to grab the Halon unit
