Yes, i agree. I think the world has received a rather distorted and romanticised take on the American west by the media,(films, television, songs and books)as to what it really was .

The documentry maker Ken Burns did a TV series called 'The West' several years ago. I bought the series on DVD, and thought the whole thing was done rather well in terms of telling it how it was so to speak.

So what do they say? - Never let the truth get in the way of a good story.:)
