Tires: Firestone Indy 500s vs. Radial T?A vs. Cooper Cobra

I have had several sets of BFG over the years and never had a bad set. I think their a good all around tire.

I switched to 17's to clear my rear brakes and to get speed rated tires that were up to my cars top end capability-in 15's the selection was limited.

BFGs wear like iron.. They also don't hook as well because of the harder compound.

I got these in 245 and 275 wide.

The Firestones look the coolest, IMHO.

I only know the Cooper Cobra from experience, so I can warn you that they really, really suck when the road is wet. And you don´t need to be in the pouring rain for them to get you in trouble, a slightly wet surface is enough.

My opinion is "DON`T (!!) buy them!!" I nearly got killed because of those Coopers when my car totally understeered and slid straight forward into the trajectory of bus while I was going around a bend at less than 20mph! Luckily the bus driver was able to stop.

That was the worst thing that happened but I´ve had numerous other situations with those tires.
