Transmission crossmember clarification

Hey guys, this has probably been gone over before, but I need to know if a 71-73 FMX crossmember will work with a C6? I've read in some places that it will work, and other places it says that there is 1/2 inch difference in height. What's the deal?

The C6 and the FMX share the same three legged crossmember - D1ZZ-6A023-A. There are different mounts listed in the MPC for fixed roof vs convertible cars, but the crossmembers never change.

Also, the 71 listing in the MPC shows the -B four leg crossmember for the FMX, which is an error. It was correct for '72, 73 and in the Mercury MPC.
