Alright so we know that accurate pistol shooting is easy you just align the sights and squeeze the trigger without disturbing the sight alignment simple right !!! So why is it so f#*king hard to do for 60 shots in Issf matches.

I train with my eyes cosed to feel the trigger, Dry fire heaps and do the shell case on top of the gun thing. Just wanted to know how or if you guys train trigger control.

Ps I can shoot ok so I not looking for newbie type tips just looking to improve on reasonable skills. I would love to hear your thoughts

My favorite exercise is dry fire with a laser equipped weapon. Indoors at past 50 feet the dot will tell you if you’re steady or pulling pretty quickly. Once you’re too good to see movement while dry firing have a spotter close to the wall to critique your steadiness.

Is it possible you’re too good for your gun/ammo? When I started shooting I thought I’d hit the limit of my abilities until a friend let me try a more accurate weapon.

I shoot at 50m to train for precision.

Issf is Olympic type events I haven't and never will exceed the limits of my guns as the are high end precision pieces. It's just that

The 10 ring in air pistol match is 11.5mm and its 10m away

With the 22 its 50mm and its 25 metres away. Mush easier match to shoot well

Pics are from Internet but identical to mine

Very nice and bit different from what I shoot in the back yard.
Ha Ha got a colt 1911 and a S&W wheelgun too. Thems my fun guns, the 2 in the pics bring me too much mental anguish for me not to have guns that blast bigger holes in crap ;)
