Upper and lower control arms

Is there any value in keeping the original upper and lower control arms off a 1973 Mustang? I recently replaced them along with the the rest of the front suspension. I planned on just scrapping them, but thought I would check with you guys first. Thanks.

I bought the kit from CJ Pony Parts. The upper and lower control arms came with the bushings and ball joints already installed.

If you keep them nobody will want them if you toss them somebody will be looking for them next week, lol. With so many parts cars out there I doubt you can sell. I have couple sets also.

PDB spindles are easy to sell.

I also have mine taking space in my garage together with pistons, rods, crank and cam.

Thanks guys. I wasn’t really thinking of making money on them as much as possibly a purist wanting them to recondition. They are original and much heavier duty than what I just replaced them with. I’ll probably just toss them. Thanks again for the input.

For very strong control arms you can box your originals by cutting 1/8" steel plate to size and welding it to the control arms.

Very simple upgrade. I did this back in 2016 and posted a tutorial on it. Well worth the couple bucks and the time.

Has someone tried to do this upgrade with the LCAs in place? I don't think you could do the UCA.

it would be extremely difficult to do in place. You would have to remove sway bar and end links. Also I would be concerned about keeping the bushings cool enough while welding. I think you would actually save time by removing them to do this.
