So I'm sure someone out there has replaced these.  It seems the best attachment method would be the flat type rivets that were used originally.

I'm really only familiar with pot rivets which would protrude out to much.

What's the best method?

What has worked for you?

I replaced them. Rivet it to the rail. There is an AMK kit for this, but any small rivet will do.

So, a small rivet with the protruding side under the weatherstripping works ok?
I flatten any protrusion with a punch. If I recall correctly I put the rivet in from the outside. Then laid the molding flat and flatten any rivet protrusion in the channel down with a flat punch. It does not need to be absolutely  flat in the channel as the rubber weatherstrip covers it. Use aluminum rivets they flatten easier.

All,

Per rackerm, I used Stainless Steel pop rivets. Also, I used NOS clips and they started to rust after a two months on the mustang. I had to remove them, put them in Ospho to kill the rust. I carry them to a friend of mine who powered coated them.

A coat of Black epoxy may extend their life. I do know they have a black plastic coating. I wonder of the plasti-Dip would work?

This looks like a better way!
