I submit that it depends on where your interest REALLY lie. If you are "into" the car PRIMARILY as an investment, that would entail one approach while if you are into it for another "specific enjoyment", that could necessitate a different approach.

Me, being a Modifier, would probably take my time and build both of them using big block Ford power as the motivation - - but that is just me:)!

Again, I would sit down and make an honest assessment as to what I want from the "journey" because in the end that is what it boils down to - - in my opinion. With the advancements in technology (and my age), I have come to understand that these cars are really NEVER done. And that my friends, is a very GOOD thing!!

I agree BT. I read somewhere on here where you said there are basically 4 motivations for people to buy a car. Forgive me if I don't get these correct.

They want a mustang show car.

They want a mustang for the love of the car / coolness factor / daily driver.

They want a mustang for an investment.

They want a mustang race car.

I'm in it several times for love of the car.

I say combine all those things....except investment...that implies that we would sell our cars....lol

The convertibles are probably the hardest to find as the production numbers were low and were more likely to succumb to rust from tops leaks. The 73 Convertible was supposed to be the last year ever for a Mustang Convertible due to the safety issues in the 70's, and the production was bumped up some, but as we all know the Convertibles made a comeback in the 80's.

But as already said, rarity does not always make it a collectors treasure.

The most collector treasured??? MINE (and yours...) because I made it mine (and you made yours yours) and I am not going to sell it. ;)
Agree and plus sentimental values as most of use are second owners passed down from Dad or relative. But, if I had to pick one, it would be that missing white 429 Shelby Cobra 1971 Fastback in Europe.

I have to agree. I get that all the time," What's that car worth"? You and I know that price wise our cars are not that valuable, but you can't put a price on what it means to you. I have mine insured for 30,000,00 stated value. Would it bring that? I don't know.Is it worth that? I don't know. Would I sell it for that ? Probably not. I have had this car for so long, it really is part of the family.

FastE, at first glance that sideways pic you posted made me think you were repeating the Diamonds are Forever 2 wheel alley stunt.
