What are they for

Seeing what is the actual point of these? They don’t seem to contact or do anything?

Those are the windshield stands, they set the height of it when it's being installed. There's supposed to be a rubber pad on top, and the w/s had a plastic channel on the lower edge.

As Hemikiller said, in this pic you will see the bracket and the channel on the bottom edge of the windshield.

You can get the ws channel at any of the suppliers. I took my brackets cleaned, painted and then dipped them in Plasti Dip.
