Anyone ever make or see seat track extenders for 71-73? Would make driving my Boss 351 waaaaay more enjoyable.

I'm surprised there aren't any aftermarket seat extenders for our cars... I'm sure lots of people would buy them, myself included. I'm 5'10" and even I feel like I'm way too close to the steering wheel. I can't properly extend my arms to a comfortable driving position, can't imagine the tall folks in here.

I am 5'7" and the sitting position is perfect with shimmed front seat bracket to add incline. That said, any taller than 5'9" and you have to start making compromises. With a race helmet my height is about the limit to touching the headliner. I have no idea how tall people drove these cars back in the day. Maybe being crammed in the seat was part of life.

I did it. I used 1/4” bar stock one inch wide. I drilled holes in them to position the seat about 2 1/2” back on the tracks. Next I tapped the holes and bolted the tracks forward of the seat. Oh I used modified 67’ tracks to make both of them locking. The adjustment lever needs bent. At least the pictures make it look bad,but not in the way

I have the YearOne extenders and they did the trick for me also. I'm 6'2" but not as flexible with my knees as I used to be so very helpful. I haven't found a good way to deal with yet the additional exposure of the adjustment lever. It is more a visual thing though as it doesn't get in the way of anything.

I'm 5'- 10", been driving the car for 34 years. Personally, I don't find the seats too close , but I'll tell you, I've ridden in a friend's car that has had the seats replaced with newer aftermarket designed seats, and That car is more difficult to get in and out of. Lumbar supports , wrap around side supports.......you can't just slide in like the stock seats. The height is wrong too, I felt like my hair was scraping the headliner. Add the console between the seats and it's a bit claustrophobic. When my kids were small, and I was taking them to and from school all the time, I removed the console and put it in the rafters. The interior really opened up. Years later, I put in a new interior and left the console out so I didn't put any holes in the new carpet. I think that is one of the things people like about my interior, how uncluttered it is now, nobody misses the console. Sidenote: For you younger guys there's more room to "mess around" too.
