Hello, I have a 1973 Mustang Mach 1 with a 351c 2bbl.
I was wondering how I could tell if my Oil pan is orginal. I am getting ready to change the oil and I want to be sure that I put the correct amount of oil in. The manual says it takes 5 quarts.

I doubt that even if it's not the original it wouldn't hold less than 5 Quarts. It might hold more. Get a 5 quart jug of your favorite oil Put some new oil in the new filter then put the remaining new oil in the engine. Run it for a bit and check the oil level. Even if the pan has more capacity, what you put in initially will suffice to let you know if indeed it is 5 quarts. If the dip stick shows it needs more just add some until it shows "full" Make a note on how much you had to add.

Thank you so much, I will do that.
