1973 Mustang convertible— 550hp 393 Cleveland
Well, I thought this may be of interest. After many years I decided to rebuild the 351C in my 73 convertible. I started way back in 2019 and after bore and stroking to a 393 had trouble getting it to idle. Finally took it to Mark Sanchez who had worked on a lot of Ford engines. Anyway, it started quite a journey and ended up in Hot Rod magazine articles 4 times - 3 for the engine and 1 for a complete gauge re-do. I can’t find a link for the first article, but I included a couple of pages from the start. The final dyno numbers were 512 hp and 500 lb-ft of torque at the crank. The car is nearly finished now with a repaint of original blue glow paint along with 4 wheel discs and complete performance suspension and new interior. It has been quite a journey. Sorry I tried to make the hyperlinks, but had issues so there are only pics of them.
